Project Blue Bells
Blue Bells bloom, without risk of hyperbole, to a count of millions during April in Northern Virginia. They blanket woodland in pink, purple, and blue before trees show green and mosquitoes search for blood. My technique for photographing these beautiful flowers has evolved over the years; most recently, I have experimented with a small depth of field with a goal of exposing more color than shape. Like Project Arthropoda, the collection of Blue Bell prints spans many years, and will hopefully continue to do so well into the future.
